What Is EXLA?

EXLA Tracking

EXLA is the internal name used by Estes Express Lines for tracking freight shipments. If you’re tracking an EXLA shipment, you’re actually using the Estes system.

Estes is the largest privately-owned Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) carrier in North America. The company operates over 280 terminals, approximately 10,000 tractors, and nearly 7,000 next-day lanes across the United States.

EXLA Tracking

To track an EXLA shipment, go to the official Estes tracking page. Enter your PRO (tracking) number—typically 7 to 10 digits—along with your delivery ZIP code. This provides enhanced tracking results, especially for final-mile deliveries.

Enhanced Tracking Features

Customers who log in to My Estes can access detailed shipment insights. These include real-time progress updates, estimated delivery dates, stop counters (such as “Stops Away”), and even scanned documents and consignee details.

Third-Party Platforms

You can also track EXLA shipments using third-party platforms such as 17TRACK, AfterShip, and GoComet. Simply enter your PRO number to retrieve shipment data, including delivery status, location, and delivery confirmation.

Latest Improvements and Services

Estes introduced new features in early 2025 to improve shipment visibility. The enhanced tracking experience now includes more frequent updates, visual indicators, ETAs, and full outbound detail. Using both ZIP code and PRO number helps provide accurate last-mile tracking.

Another recent addition is the Pickup Visibility feature, available via the Estes mobile app. This tool lets shippers see real-time updates on pickup drivers, including how many stops away they are and estimated pickup time.

Company Growth and Recognition

Estes has earned several industry awards and recognitions. In 2024, the company was named LTL Carrier of the Year by both J.B. Hunt and Uber Freight. It was also ranked 11th on the 2024 Transport Topics Top 100 For-Hire Carriers list, climbing three positions from the previous year.

In Mastio’s 2024 LTL Customer Value Study, Estes was ranked second nationally, highlighting its strong customer satisfaction and service value.

The company has also expanded rapidly. Following Yellow Corp.’s bankruptcy, Estes acquired 11 additional terminals (totaling 1,215 new doors) in late 2024 and early 2025. Estes now operates more than 300 terminals and is aiming for 14,000 terminal doors by Q2 2026.

What This Means for You

  • Improved tracking visibility: Real-time milestones and better delivery insights.
  • Greater capacity: A larger network allows faster transit times and broader coverage.
